Ondas is partnering with Palantir as it ramps up its defense biz

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) has formed a strategic partnership with Ondas Inc. (ONDS) to develop and deploy a new generation of AI-enabled integrated and sensing solutions aimed at scaling persistent stratospheric, aerial, and land-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
The partnership will also include World View Enterprises, Inc., a leader in high-altitude balloon ISR and stratospheric remote sensing. Ondas made a $10 million strategic investment in World View earlier this month, while also forming a partnership with the company.
World View's Stratollite platform was built to offer "the critical layer between satellites and aircraft to deliver persistent, long-dwell intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions at significantly lower cost and complexity than traditional assets," according to a press release from Ondas.
The Stratollite platform will be combined with Ondas's unmanned aerial, ground, and counter-drone systems "to deliver persistent awareness and rapid response across complex mission environments for its defense, homeland security and allied security customers."
Ondas provides autonomous aerial and ground robot intelligence through its Ondas Autonomous Systems (OAS) business unit and private wireless solutions through its Ondas Networks unit.
Meanwhile, Palantir’s Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) will be applied by Ondas and World View to the production, mission planning, and edge operations that underpin these systems. This will enable the development of scalable, software-defined stratospheric intelligence capabilities.
Ondas said that the integrated workflow between the three companies represents "a paradigm shift from the traditional ISR model that is focused on data collection." Instead, the companies are building an AI-powered interconnected intelligence ecosystem that can provide operators with decision-making tools instead of just data.
“Persistent sensing platforms like World View’s Stratollites and Ondas’ suite of autonomous systems, represent a new frontier in operational intelligence,” Dr. Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies, said in a statement.
“By combining Palantir’s software platforms with World View’s unique stratospheric capabilities and Ondas’ broader autonomous ecosystem, we’re building the operational backbone required to scale these missions.”
Ondas shares are more than 4% so far this year, while Palantir's stock has plunged over 15% YTD as part of the broader software selloff.
The work on optimizing World View's stratospheric systems and operations has already begun and the companies expect to integrate it across Ondas's multi-domain portfolio as early as the fourth quarter of 2026.
“This partnership represents an important step in building a scalable, software-defined ISR architecture capable of supporting the next generation of multi-domain operations,” Ondas chairman and CEO Eric Brock said in a statement.
“Integrating Palantir’s operational software with Ondas’ systems and World View’s stratospheric platforms will create a powerful foundation for delivering persistent intelligence across air, stratosphere and space.”
In addition to its partnership with Palantir, Ondas also announced last week that it had acquired BIRD Aerosystems, an Israel-based developer and provider of Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS) and airborne ISR solutions for global military, government and homeland security customers.
Ondas said that the acquisition of BIRD marked its entry into the airborne and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), missile protection market. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
"BIRD Aerosystems adds an important and highly differentiated capability to the Ondas defense technology platform," Brock said in a statement. "Their globally deployed aircraft protection systems and advanced airborne ISR mission technologies significantly expand our footprint in airborne defense markets while strengthening our ability to deliver integrated multi-domain mission solutions.”
