BigBear (BBAI) stock takes off: Biometric tech rollout and UAE deal spark triple-digit rally

BigBear.ai (BBAI) stock has gone parabolic over the past month, soaring more than 93% — far outpacing the Nasdaq’s 4% gain — as investors welcome a flurry of bullish news, including a high-profile tech deployment and fresh analyst upgrades.

The rally kicked into high gear in late June after the company announced that its Enhanced Passenger Processing system is now live at major U.S. airports, including Chicago O’Hare, Charlotte Douglas, JFK, and two terminals at LAX.

The biometric tech aims to streamline international arrivals for U.S. citizens while maintaining high security standards.

Earlier in June, BigBear also unveiled a strategic partnership in the United Arab Emirates focused on R&D and mobility tech. CEO Kevin McAleenan called the deal a “major first step in our international expansion.”

Wall Street is starting to take notice.

H.C. Wainwright raised BigBear’s valuation multiple from 10x to 12x, citing a compelling risk-reward profile and room for further upside.

“Notably, this is still well below AI peer Palantir Technologies, Inc., which currently trades at more than 66x 2026,” analyst Scott Buck noted.

Stock up 210% since April bottom

Since hitting a low on April 21, BigBear shares have surged more than 210% and now trade around $7.5, lifting the company’s market cap to roughly $2.2 billion.

Despite still trading below its 52-week high, BBAI is now at its highest level in over four months.

In Q1, BigBear posted $34.8 million in revenue — up 5% year-over-year — driven largely by new contracts with the Department of Homeland Security.

Gross margin ticked up slightly to 21.3%, while net loss narrowed to $62 million from $127.8 million a year earlier.

The company is expected to report second-quarter results in mid-August.

While Wall Street estimates are currently unavailable, BigBear has guided for full-year revenue between $160 million and $180 million, with adjusted earnings projected to land in the negative single-digit millions.
